Cranberries are becoming increasingly popular as a medicine, thanks to its excellent healing properties.

The cranberry fruit is a solid, low-calorie red berry, rich in vitamins, especially vitamin C, minerals, polyphenols, organic acids, sugars. Cranberries are also rich in hippuric acids, a natural antibiotic that has a pronounced effect on fungi. Cranberry lowers blood sugar levels and leads to increased good cholesterol content. What cranberries are most valued for is its beneficial effect on various inflammations and urinary tract infections.

Cranberries also act on the most common and most unpleasant bacterium in the urinary system, escherichia coli, and recent research shows that this fruit also works on another dangerous bacterium – helicobacter pylori, which is the most common cause of stomach ulcers.

Urinary tract infections

Scientific research has found that condensed tannin in the cranberry prevents the bacteria from entering the urinary tract, bladder and kidneys, and cranberry juice prevents the development of harmful microorganisms.

It occurs in men and women, but women are ten times more likely than men: 60 percent of women get at least one life-threatening illness, and 30 percent of patients get the infection again within the next 12 months. Urinary tract infections are usually caused by bacteria that are normally present in the colon which, if found in the urinary system, can cling to the walls of the urinary tract, reproduce quickly and easily and cause infection.

Against Cancer

Since cranberries contain a large number of bioflavonoids that have antioxidant activity, they reduce the risk of some forms of cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer. In animal experiments, cranberries not only stopped the growth of cancer cells but also metastasized.

Free radical defense

Cranberries perfectly defend and protect cells from free radicals because they contain antioxidants.

Use of cranberry

Cranberries are used as a dietary supplement in the prevention of urinary tract infections, especially those that persist repeatedly. It is recommended for people who are prone to urinary tract infections, in order to enhance resistance and preserve urinary tract health. It is especially recommended for older people, as well as people with weakened immunity.
